On 2021-04-28, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) published EN 71-13:2021, which applies to olfactory board games, cosmetic kits, gustative games and supplementary sets.
Replacing EN 71-13:2014, this new standard aims to further reduce the risks and health hazards to children when such products are used as intended or in a foreseeable way, bearing in mind behavior of children. It also specifies requirements on the use of substances as well as mixtures and in some cases on their amount and concentration contained.
This updated version is expected to be cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under 2009/48/EC (Toy Safety Directive) shortly.
